Call for Abstracts for CASWOC3, the 3rd Conversation Analysis and Social Work Online Conference, 16th March 2023
We invite abstracts for presentations or data sessions at the third Conversation Analysis and Social Work Online Conference.
The CASW conference is a venue for exchange of research findings in different institutional, national and cultural settings, aiming to gather researchers and doctoral students working with conversation analysis and social work.
Social work is very often conducted through conversations and a growing field of conversation analytic studies has systematically and carefully examined the nature of this work in areas such as investigations, decision-making, and support.
We welcome contributions that address topics in any area of social work that use conversation analysis or closely related approaches – discursive psychology, membership categorization analysis, or ethnomethodology.
- Oral presentations should be for 15 minutes, followed by 5 minutes for discussion. Abstracts should be 200-300 words.
- Data sessions should be for 60 minutes. Abstracts should be 200-300 words and describe the setting and phenomenon of interest.
